HERBICIDE RESISTANCE

Roundup® Ready (RR) ... These are Roundup Ready® (NK603) hybrids that are resistant to glyphosate herbicide. These Roundup Ready® hybrids have been approved for import by both the European Union and Japan. NOTE: These hybrids are genetically modified but grain channeling is NOT required. You must agree to the terms and sign the Monsanto Technology Stewardship Agreement. Roundup Ready® corn is genetically modified, and pollen from these plants can and will travel to neighboring plants and contaminate grains that are not genetically modified.
LibertyLink® (LL) ... These are LibertyLink® hybrids that are resistant to LIBERTY® herbicide. These hybrids are approved for import by both the European Union and Japan. NOTE: These hybrids are genetically resistant to LIBERTY® herbicide, but
do not provide insect protection. Grain channeling is NOT required.
 

 

INSECT PROTECTION

Agrisure™ and LibertyLink® (HBt) ... These are Agrisure™ CB (Cry1AB) Bt corn borer and LibertyLink® hybrids. These hybrids have whole plant Bt corn borer protection and are resistant to LIBERTY® herbicide. Agrisure™ CB hybrids have been approved for import by both the European Union and Japan. NOTE: These hybrids are genetically modified, but grain channeling is NOT required. A 20% non-corn borer Bt refuge is required. See page 20 for details.
Herculex® I and LibertyLink® (Hx) ... These are Herculex® I (Cry1F) hybrids, which protect against european corn borer, southwestern corn borer, black cutworm, fall armyworm and western bean cutworm. Herculex® I hybrids are also resistant to LIBERTY® herbicide. NOTE: These hybrids are genetically modified, but grain channeling is NOT required. A 20%
non-corn borer Bt refuge is required. See page 20 for details.
Herculex® I, LibertyLink® and Roundup® Ready (HxRR) ... These are Herculex® I (Cry1F) hybrids with the added benefit of RR (NK603) which confers resistance to glyphosate herbicide. These protect against european corn borer, southwestern corn borer, black cutworm, fall armyworm and western bean cutworm. Herculex® I hybrids are also resistant to LIBERTY® herbicide. NOTE: Herculex® I stacked with Roundup® Ready hybrids are Market Choices™ products and need to be channeled correctly; see "Market Choices™" below. A 20% non-corn borer Bt refuge is required. YieldGard® (YG) ... These are YieldGard (Mon810/Cry1AB) Bt corn borer hybrids. These hybrids have whole plant Bt corn borer protection. CONVENTIONAL HYBRIDS

Hoegemeyer ... These are Hoegemeyer brand conventional hybrids.
VIP ... These are Value-added Identity Preserved hybrids that have been identified by an end-user for a value market; the grain would be identity preserved by color, quality, hybrid characteristic or value-trait. These hybrids include Hoegemeyer White and Food Grade Yellow varieties.
 

 

SEED TREATMENTS
Hoegemeyer applies Captan, Allegiance and Actellic to all corn to protect seeds and seedlings during the early growth period. With corn, you have the option of using Poncho® 250 or Poncho® 1250.
Poncho® 250 delivers the early-season protection that your crop needs against black cutworms, wireworms, white grubs, seedcorn maggots, grape colapsis, flea beetles, chinch bugs and other early season pests. A precise amount of Poncho® 250 insecticide is applied to every seed, then delivered to your farm, on the seed, in the bag.
Poncho® 1250 provides the same benefits as Poncho¨ 250, plus the addition of Corn Rootworm control comparable to traditional soil-applied insecticides. Poncho® 1250 is available on selected hybrids; contact the home office or a Hoegemeyer District Sales Manager for this information.
Insect Resistance Management (IRM) ... Before opening a bag of seed, be sure to read and understand the stewardship requirements, including applicable refuge requirements for insect resistance management, for the biotechnology traits expressed in the seed. By opening and using a bag of seed, you are reaffirming your obligation to comply with those
stewardship requirements. See page 20 for details.
