DETERMINATE
Determinate ears are relatively short, uniform and not significantly affected by final population. Determinate-eared hybrids usually perform best at higher plant populations.
SEMI-DETERMINATE
A short ear type similar to determinate. However, the ears on this type of hybrid may flex longer at lower plant populations.
FLEX
Ear length on these hybrids is directly related to population.
Ear length will increase at low populations.
SEMI-FLEX
These hybrids have the limited ability to increase ear length
at lower populations. They have longer ears with fewer rows around than semi-determinate types.
